Saxony's highways during the vacations: Congestion time decreased

Drivers spent significantly less time stuck in traffic jams on Saxony's freeways during the summer vacations than in the previous year. During the six weeks of the vacations, holidaymakers and travelers spent around 100 hours less standing on the freeway, according to the congestion statistics published by the automobile club ADAC Sachsen. The number of traffic jams increased by almost 500 compared to the 2023 summer vacations. However, the length of traffic jams fell by almost 600 kilometers.

Patience was particularly in demand during the vacation period on the busy A4 east-west tangent, which was again interrupted by numerous roadworks in 2024. 1,267 traffic jams with a total length of 1,366 kilometers were registered here.
