Saxony is organizing a "Building Culture Week" for the first time. The Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development announced that several events from June 22 to 26 will focus on topics such as planning, timber construction and the circular economy.
The focus will be on questions that directly affect cities and municipalities in Saxony: "How can good planning succeed? How can construction be simpler and more resource-efficient? What role do timber construction, the circular economy, climate adaptation, social cohesion and building culture play in rural areas?"
Building culture is a term that is probably not familiar to many people who do not move in specialist circles, said Construction Minister Regina Kraushaar (CDU). "Nevertheless, people feel the impact of Baukultur very directly: because Baukultur helps to determine whether places work and people feel at home - and can therefore prove that public funds have been used wisely."
The aim of "Baukultur Week" is to show how much professional experience, practical problem-solving power and responsibility is available in Saxony - in cities and in the countryside.
