Electric heaters lead a niche existence in Germany, but demand is increasing. That is why a Saxon family business is expanding its production.

The electric heating manufacturer Lucht LHZ is expanding its production in Burgstädt near Chemnitz due to increasing demand. The company has recently reached the limits of its capacity, said Managing Director Uwe Lucht. For this reason, capacity is now being expanded by more than 50 percent with an additional commercial space. Over the next three years, the medium-sized company plans to invest around three million euros in Burgstädt and increase the number of employees from 65 to 80.

Lucht LHZ reports that it sold around 61,000 electric heaters last year, increasing its turnover by 8 percent to 13.5 million euros. This year, sales of more than 15 million euros are planned.
