Dresdner SC's volleyball players have celebrated their second victory in the Champions League. Alexander Waibl's team beat Polish representative LKS Commercecon Lodz 3:0 (25:18, 25:19, 26:24) in their home arena. The team from the city on the Elbe had already won the first leg in Poland 3:1.
This means that the German championship runners-up can no longer be denied third place in Group D ahead of their final home game against Ankara in a week's time. The team from the city on the Elbe will therefore definitely remain in international business and can continue to play in the second-tier CEV Cup.
After a somewhat nervous start, the hosts fought their way into the match in front of 2501 spectators with powerful serving, a stable reception and defense and variable attacks and clearly dictated the action in the first two periods. The visitors from Poland put up a little more resistance in the third period, but in the end the Elbe club was able to hold on. DSC attacker Jette Kuipers was named the game's most valuable player
