Michael Eifert missed out on a world championship boxing sensation in the light heavyweight division. The 28-year-old professional from Bautzen put up a very good fight against the clearly favored defending champion Dmitri Biwol in Yekaterinburg.
Eifert survived the twelve rounds, but the judges then decided unanimously and deservedly in favor of the 35-year-old Russian. Eifert had already secured the fight as an IBF mandatory challenger in March 2023. However, back surgery had forced Biwol to take a longer break.
