Second division soccer club 1. FC Magdeburg has strengthened its attacking line with Kevin Manthey. The 19-year-old center forward moves from Werder Bremen II to the Elbe. Neither club provided any details regarding the terms of the contract.
"With his combination of size and pace, Kevin brings a package as a striker that is not often found. After moving back to Bremen from Hoffenheim, he was able to gain valuable experience in the men's game very early on and has developed well," said Magdeburg's sporting director Peer Jaekel, "overall, he is a player with a very exciting profile and great potential."
The 1.92-metre attacking player went through all the youth ranks at the Weser. In the summer of 2024, Manthey moved to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim U19 for six months. In the past season, the attacker scored four goals for the U23s in the Regionalliga Nord and contributed one assist.
