After the exuberant celebrations following their promotion to the second division, Dynamo Dresden want to spoil their fans once again. In the season finale this Saturday (1.30pm/MagentaSport) against SpVgg Unterhaching, who have already been relegated, they want to give it everything they've got. "We put in a good, crisp performance today, we want to give our all on the pitch again," said coach Thomas Stamm and emphasized: "The last impression is crucial, not just in soccer. We want to round off a more than reasonable season with a win."
Dynamo need help for third division championship
A win is also the prerequisite for possibly clinching the third division championship. For that to happen, leaders Arminia Bielefeld would have to lose at home to Waldhof Mannheim a week before the DFB Cup final in Berlin against VfB Stuttgart.
After the last point game, the team will meet again on Sunday to regenerate and have breakfast together with the club's staff. Then the loan players, such as goalscorer Christoph Daferner, will return to their regular clubs.
Personnel planning in full swing
The personnel planning for the second division season will then continue. "We've already been dealing with these issues in recent weeks. We have to be open to many positions and sound out the market," said sporting director Thomas Brendel, adding: "We have to go our own way and make the right use of our financial resources. Approach things calmly and objectively. I'm looking ahead very positively, knowing full well what lies ahead of us." He wants to talk to all players, "in both positive and negative cases".
