The stadium is small, and not everyone can fit inside: Ahead of Como 1907's Champions League debut, the club president and a few colleagues came up with something special.

The president is making room: For Thursday’s Champions League debut against RB Leipzig, Mirwan Suwarso and several board members are clearing the stands for longtime supporters. Their tickets will be given to fans “who have waited the longest: those born in 1950 or earlier who have supported Como in every division and throughout every era,” the club president announced on Instagram.

Fans were asked to nominate such a longtime supporter via email. “It would be an honor for us to offer them our seat,” wrote Suwarso.

Como has only been in Serie A since 2024 and qualified for the Champions League for the first time after finishing fourth last season. The Giuseppe Sinigaglia Stadium, located directly on Lake Como, has a maximum capacity of just over 12,000 spectators. “The stadium is completely sold out. Due to limited capacity and a limited number of available tickets, we unfortunately cannot allow everyone who would have liked to attend to participate,” the president stated.
