Dynamo striker Kutschke ends his career

A great career comes to an end at Dynamo Dresden at the end of the season. Captain Stefan Kutschke ends his career after 187 competitive matches for Dynamo, in which he scored 53 goals and set up a further 16 goals. From the new season onwards, the 37-year-old will be involved in Dresden's sporting activities off the pitch. He will contribute his expertise in professional soccer through a trainee program in the various departments of the club and also get to know the know-how from the different areas. He will also support the sports community with representative projects.

"I am incredibly proud of the entire journey over the past few years. Above all, however, I am grateful to be able to finish my career in my home town, where I was born and where I took the first steps of my career. I worked hard for the privilege of turning my hobby into a profession and mastered the leap to the Bundesliga with a lot of willpower," said Kutschke in a club statement.

Managing Director Gonther: Has created wonderful experiences

Sports Director Sören Gonther emphasized: "Stefan has a great standing in the club and the entire region, which he has worked hard to achieve over many years. He can look back with pride on a career in which he has delivered great sporting performances and created wonderful experiences. His role at Dynamo Dresden has grown over the years thanks to his strong leadership and, as a result, it was agreed early on that we would continue together after his active career."

A total of eight clubs in the men's game

Kutschke played for various Dresden clubs in his youth. His first club in the men's game was FV Dresden 06 in 2007, before moving to SV Babelsberg in the regional league at the time. In 2010, he moved to RB Leipzig, where he played 82 games and scored 25 goals until 2013.

He joined Dynamo in 2016, initially on loan for a year, via Bundesliga clubs VfL Wolfsburg and SC Paderborn as well as 1. FC Nürnberg. After four years at FC Ingolstadt, he then returned to his hometown in 2022. Here he became captain and an integral figure. In total, Kutschke has played 27 games in the Bundesliga, 192 games in the 3rd division and 144 appearances in the 2nd Bundesliga to date. He has also made 19 appearances in the DFB Cup and 141 regional league appearances.
