Like head coach Marco Rose's professionals, RB Leipzig's U19s also play against Real Madrid. However, former professional Sebastian Heidinger's team only have one game in the last 16 of the Youth League. The RB youngsters around U17 world champion Winners Osawe have to play this match in the Spanish capital on February 27/28 at the "Estadio Alfredo di Stefano". The winner will then meet the winner of the match between AC Milan and SC Braga in the quarter-finals (March 12/13). This was the result of the draw on Friday in Nyon.
The matches in the knockout phase will be decided in just one match. The semi-finals and final will be played in a final tournament from April 19-22 at the Colovray Stadium in Nyon. RB's U19s won through on penalties at Danish champions FC Midtjylland to reach the last 16 for the first time.
The Whites' youth academy is known as "La Cantera" and is regarded as one of the best in international soccer. The Madrilenians won Group C with SC Braga, SSC Napoli and Union Berlin with ease. The RB youngsters met Real in 2022 and drew 1-1 before losing 3-2 at home in the second leg.
