Second-division soccer club Dynamo Dresden has strengthened its scouting department with Niklas Kreuzer. The 33-year-old will join the team of squad planner Stephan Engels. "Niklas had already shown a lot of interest and commitment in the scouting department since his return to Dynamo and was therefore able to take his first steps in the team," said sporting director Sören Gonther.
Kreuzer returned to Dresden in December 2025 and plays for the second team in the Sachsenliga, which is on the verge of promotion. The veteran is set to continue playing there in the future. During his career, the defender also played for Hallescher FC and Rot-Weiß Erfurt.
Kreuzer gained nationwide fame after being diagnosed with testicular cancer in August 2023. The son of former Bayern professional Oliver Kreuzer successfully battled the disease and celebrated his comeback in spring 2024. Kreuzer later reported having difficulties continuing his professional career due to the disease.
