Borussia Dortmund's former squad planner Sven Mislintat is in talks with second-division soccer club Dynamo Dresden, according to media reports. The 53-year-old has been in Saxony and met with the club's management, reported "Dresdner Neueste Nachrichten" and "Bild". Dynamo are looking for a successor to sporting director Thomas Brendel, who was dismissed at the beginning of November. Dresden is in a relegation battle in the second division.
Mislintat has an excellent reputation, particularly when it comes to discovering talent. As chief scout, he brought Ousmane Dembélé to BVB, among others. He then worked for FC Arsenal, VfB Stuttgart and Ajax Amsterdam. However, his second spell at Dortmund ended in spring 2025 after just a few months. Prior to that, Mislintat and sporting director Sebastian Kehl and managing director Lars Ricken were said to have repeatedly disagreed.
