Third-division soccer team SG Dynamo Dresden have reached the quarter-finals of the Saxony Cup. Coach Markus Anfang's team won 4:0 (2:0) against Landesliga side VfB Empor Glauchau on Wednesday afternoon and confidently lived up to its role as favorites in front of 4,000 spectators at Sportpark Glauchau. While some of Dresden's key players were rested, Tom-Kaspar Berger scored for the SG to make it 1-0 (30'). A brace from Manuel Schäffler (41st, 73rd) and a goal from Dennis Borkowski (69th) made the victory perfect.

The next cup round will take place on March 23 and 24, 2024. The matches will be drawn at half-time during the regional league game between FSV Zwickau and 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig on December 9 (2:00 p.m.).
