The third division match between 1. FC Saarbrücken and Dynamo Dresden on Sunday was canceled after 45 minutes at 0-0 due to weather conditions. That was the decision of referee Arne Aarnink after a lengthy deliberation during the halftime break. "The deciding factor was that regular play was no longer possible. "In the case, there is no right or wrong decision. It is after this first half to accept absolutely that here no more regular soccer game is possible," said Dresden's sports director Ralf Becker. The abandonment of the match nevertheless has a stale aftertaste for the Black and Yellows. "We have the longest journey here, 2000 fans with us, we already wanted to play the game," Becker affirmed. Jürgen Luginger, Saarbrücken's sports director, nevertheless correctly classified that the game had "little to do with soccer."

On the difficult-to-play surface, the hosts started better in the game. It was not yet 30 seconds played, as Amine Naifi tested SGD goalkeeper Stefan Drljaca. Drljaca was quick to dive and defuse the attacker's powerful finish. A short time later, Naifi (21) found his master in the strong Dresden keeper for the second time. The SGD found on the increasingly difficult to play surface no means and never really dangerous in front of the goal of the FCS.
