A blackout in the second quarter cost the German league basketball team Syntainics MBC its fourth win of the season. The team of Head Coach Predrag Krunic won three of the four periods against Hamburg Towers, but was ultimately beaten 81:86. The decisive factor: The second quarter, which the club from Weißenfels clearly lost by 15:30.
"Apart from the second quarter, we played well. Our defense in particular wasn't good in the second quarter. We fought our way back in the second half, also thanks to the support of our fans. We were close, but didn't manage to turn the game in our favor," said Krunic.
The MBC had to make do without the in-form Martin Breunig, who suffered an ankle injury in Würzburg. The 31-year-old could be fit again next Saturday. He will then face Alba Berlin in the cup quarter-finals. The MBC surprisingly and clearly defeated the top team just two weeks ago by 108:75.
