The Motorcycle World Championship will continue to be hosted at the Sachsenring beyond 2026. MotoGP rights holder Dorna Sports and the ADAC as the organizer have agreed to extend the contract until 2031, according to a statement. The agreement had already been expected during the last race weekend.
"The MotoGP at the Sachsenring is the most important national motorsport event - with more than a quarter of a million visitors," said ADAC Sports President Gerd Ennser. "We are continuing this success story and have reached an early agreement with Dorna to hold the Grand Prix at the Sachsenring in the long term."
Thanks to the new contract, nothing stands in the way of the anniversary edition in 2027. 100 years ago, the Badberg-Vierecks-Rennen in front of 130,000 spectators marked the start of a Saxon motorsport success story. Last weekend, the attendance record was broken again with 256,441 fans.
