1. FC Magdeburg kicks off the new season of the 2. Bundesliga on Saturday. On August 8 at 1:00 p.m., coach Petrik Sander’s team will host Eintracht Braunschweig at the Avnet Arena (Sky). This was announced by the Bundesliga (formerly the DFL), which has set the exact times for the first two matchdays.
Accordingly, Dynamo Dresden has one extra day off and will begin the new season on August 9 at 1. FC Nürnberg (1:30 p.m.). On the second matchday as well, Magdeburg will play on Saturday, visiting newly promoted VfL Osnabrück (1:00 p.m./Sky). Dresden will play again on Sunday, hosting Darmstadt 98 (1:30 p.m./Sky).
Starting with Matchday 2 of the new season, two games will be played on Friday. Four matches will take place on Saturday, one of them in the evening (8:30 p.m.). The remaining three games are scheduled for Sunday.
