Magdeburg looked unsettled after the double strike, having to clear several times in great distress in their own penalty area - and Martijn Kaars (24) missed a cross from Alexander Nollenberger. Coach Christian Titz reacted with a double substitution at the break, bringing on Abu-Bekir El-Zein and Patric Pfeiffer for Xavier Amaechi and Marcus Mathisen.
