The League of Independent Welfare Associations in Saxony is calling for reforms in the context of the upcoming budget negotiations. These include, above all, a reduction in bureaucracy, more reliable funding structures and greater involvement of practitioners in political decisions, explained the league in Radebeul. "In many places, we are seeing valuable resources being tied up in complicated procedures and short-term project logic," emphasized League head Dietrich Bauer.
"Especially in times of major financial and social challenges, we need a strong alliance between politics, local authorities and independent welfare services," emphasized Bauer. The aim must be a double budget that combines financial responsibility with social and economic sustainability. The current challenges could not be met by austerity alone.
