In Saxony, more children and young people received help from the youth welfare offices. According to the State Statistical Office in Kamenz, 63,210 children and young people were supported with educational assistance and integration assistance in the event of imminent mental disability in 2024. This corresponds to an increase of 2.6 percent compared to the previous year.
Almost 20 percent of those affected were under the age of six, the report continues. According to the figures, almost one in ten children under the age of 18 in Saxony received educational support in 2024 (nine percent).

The most common reasons for assistance in Saxony were family conflicts or "limited parenting skills" on the part of the parents. According to the figures, almost half of the cases in Saxony involved parenting advice. In most cases, social services initiated the intervention of the youth welfare offices.
