On Wednesday (from 10.00 a.m.), the state parliament will focus on a perennial issue in Saxon politics: schools. Minister of Culture Conrad Clemens (CDU) has announced a specialist government statement under the motto "Making Saxony's schools fit for the future". In concrete terms, he is likely to explain to MPs once again what measures he intends to take to solve current problems such as teacher shortages and teaching absences.
Debates on sexualized violence, nature conservation and justice
At the request of the SPD, the current parliamentary hour will initially focus on protection against domestic and sexualized violence. "Shame must change sides: support victims. Punish perpetrators" is the title of the Social Democrats' debate.
The Greens then want to address cuts in nature conservation. At the request of the Left Party, the debate will focus on how owners of large fortunes and profiteers from crises can be better asked to pay for the common good.
