Saxon BSW leader Ronny Kupke now also leads his party's parliamentary group in the state parliament. Kupke, born in 1977, was unanimously elected at a parliamentary group meeting of the Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance in Dresden, as the parliamentary group announced. Janina Pfau and Ingolf Huhn as Vice-Chairmen, Jens Hentschel-Thöricht as Parliamentary Secretary and Jörg Scheibe as 3rd Vice-President of the state parliament complete the executive committee.
Zimmermann sees foundation laid
Kupke replaces Sabine Zimmermann, who resigned her office and parliamentary mandate for health reasons. Kupke thanked Zimmermann. She had built up the parliamentary group and the party owed her a great deal.
Zimmermann told the German Press Agency: "I can now retire with peace of mind. The foundations have now been laid, now the parliamentary group has to make something of it - always for the goals of the BSW." The parliamentary group now has it in its hands. "Unity and substantive work will lead us to success."
