Housing containers for refugees are being dismantled, new opportunities for housing construction are emerging. How does Dresden intend to use the space now?

Six emergency shelters for refugees are being dismantled in Dresden. The reason for this is the significantly lower demand for accommodation in recent months, the city announced. The containers had been empty since October. Some of the vacated areas will be used for housing in future, while others will be landscaped.

With the abandonment of the residential containers, the state capital still has 4,738 places for accommodating refugees.
