Science Minister Sebastian Gemkow wants to usher in a "new start-up era" in Saxony. The CDU politician said in a specialist government statement in the Saxon state parliament that they are working on a science innovation law. The aim is to make the path from research to setting up a company easier and more attractive.
Gemkow: "New start-up era" in Saxony
"Saxony should experience a new start-up era in which courage, entrepreneurial spirit and scientific excellence go hand in hand," said Gemkow. He emphasized the role of science in the Free State as a driver of the economy and social progress. The planned annual budget of more than two billion euros for 2025 and 2026 is an investment in Saxony's future.
The coalition partner SPD also emphasized the importance of science as the "lifeline" of the state. However, Gerald Eisenblätter said that the successes of recent years were not a foregone conclusion. In times of crisis, freedom of science must be defended.
