Silence in the state parliament: After the rampage in Leipzig and deadly violence in Neustadt, parliamentarians remember the victims.

The Saxon state parliament commemorated the victims of the rampage in Leipzig and a homicide in Neustadt with a minute's silence. "These terrible acts, which have brought so much suffering to countless people, leave us deeply saddened and stunned. My thoughts are with the victims, their families and friends, the many injured and all those who had to witness these events," said Alexander Dierks, President of the State Parliament, at the start of the plenary session.

On May 4, two people were killed and several injured in the rampage of a 33-year-old man in Leipzig city center. At the end of April, a man shot dead his former partner and a social worker in an apartment building in Neustadt. The perpetrator killed himself after the crime.
