The popular online tool is also available to touch. Participants can use sticky dots to indicate their positions on various theses. Eight dates are planned in Saxony.

The popular decision aid Wahl-O-Mat is going on an analog tour through Saxony. It started with an appointment at the "Centrum Galerie" in Dresden. With the help of sticky dots, participants can answer the theses of the Wahl-O-Mat and compare themselves with the positions of others and those of the parties, according to the Saxon State Center for Political Education. At the end, they can take away their own results.

The content is similar to that of the digital Wahl-O-Mat for the Bundestag elections from the Federal Agency for Civic Education (bpb), which has been online since Wednesday. It contains 38 theses on current political topics and all parties registered for the election.

Eight events planned

The state office has planned a total of eight events in Saxony in the run-up to the federal election on February 23 - mostly in shopping centers. In addition to two further events in Dresden, the "Wahl-O-Mat zum Aufkleben" will also be coming to Görlitz, Leipzig, Freiberg, Hoyerswerda and Chemnitz.

The Wahl-O-Mat has been around since 2002. Voters can use the online tool to compare their own position with the parties running in the election. According to the bpb, the service was used over 21 million times during the 2021 Bundestag elections. The theses are developed by a youth editorial team in close consultation with experts.
