Another deportation flight may be imminent at Leipzig/Halle Airport. A plane bound for Baghdad was waiting at the airport this morning. According to a dpa photographer, police were on site. The officers were on and off the plane. According to Flightradar24, the plane was due to take off for the Iraqi capital at around 10.00 am. The Federal Ministry of the Interior did not initially provide any official information.
A deportation flight to Afghanistan took off from Leipzig Airport last Friday. According to the authorities, 81 criminals were on board. It was the second deportation flight to Afghanistan since the Taliban took power in August 2021.
