The federal police have begun stationary border controls in Saxony at the borders with Poland and the Czech Republic. Travelers must prepare for more intensive controls.

The federal police in Saxony have begun stationary controls at the borders with Poland and the Czech Republic. Among others, the freeway 17 (Prague-Dresden) was affected on Monday evening. Travelers would have to prepare from now on especially on the freeways 17 and 4, on the branch lines and in the cross-border rail traffic from Prague to Dresden on more intensive controls, informed the Federal Police Directorate Pirna. The aim is to ensure relatively smooth travel. Nevertheless, there may be delays.

Shortly after the start of the control near Bad Gottleuba, the officials a suspected smuggler went into the net, reported a spokesman for the Federal Police. This was a Syrian who allegedly tried to bring seven of his compatriots to Germany.
