A bridge over the Autobahn 14 between the Grimma districts of Grottewitz and Würschwitz has to be demolished due to cracks on the underside. The federal highway company announced that the structure will be closed from Wednesday because its stability is at risk if it continues to be used.
Planning for the demolition of the structure is already underway in parallel to the full closure. A concrete schedule will only be determined once the preparations have been completed. In the medium term, the bridge will then be rebuilt. The closure of the structure currently has no impact on the flow of traffic on the main carriageway of the A14, the statement continued.
