From energy prices to teaching provision: The Saxon state parliament has central problems of the Free State on its agenda on Thursday.

The Saxon state parliament plans to debate key issues in state politics on Thursday (from 10.00 a.m.). At the request of the CDU parliamentary group, the topical hour will initially focus on relieving the burden on local authorities and modernizing the state. The AfD wants to address the explosion in energy costs. The Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance (BSW) wants to talk about the consequences of sanctions and wars for the Free State.

In the questioning of the state government, Environment and Agriculture Minister Georg-Ludwig von Breitenbuch (CDU) has to answer questions. This will be followed by a further discussion on teaching provision. The BSW will evaluate answers to a major question to the government. Several motions will be put to the vote in the afternoon. The AfD, for example, is calling for harsher penalties for acts involving knives.
