Following the incident involving an explosive-laden drone at Leipzig/Halle Airport, the BSW parliamentary group in the state legislature warned against jumping to conclusions. ““We need to know who is behind this incident, what the objective was, and, above all, how such a drone was able to penetrate this highly sensitive area in the first place,” explained Bernd Rudolph, a member of the state parliament specializing in domestic policy. Given the war in Ukraine and the tense international situation, a possible state-sponsored motive is evident. “But speculation is not the same as investigative findings.”
Russia should not be declared the culprit without evidence. It must also be examined whether this was a deliberate provocation aimed at discrediting someone—a so-called false-flag operation.
