After 17 years, there is a change in leadership at the social wing of the CDU in Saxony. Dietmar Link is the new state chairman of the Christian Democratic Workers’ Association (CDA), according to a statement from the CDA. He takes over from Alexander Krauß, who had held the position since 2008.
Link announced his intention to establish the CDA more firmly as the CDU’s social conscience. “Especially in times of major economic and social challenges, the concerns of workers, families, retirees, and the socially disadvantaged must take center stage in political action,” the Leipzig native said, according to the statement.
In his primary professional capacity, Link has been a member of the executive board of the Saxon Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe since 2009. Within the CDA, the 61-year-old previously served as deputy state chair. Krauß remains deputy federal chair of the CDA.
