Saxony’s Minister President Michael Kretschmer sees the federal government’s planned reform package as a promising start. The CDU politician called it an “important first step.” “That alone won’t be enough—but it’s a sign that gives us hope. It is very much to be hoped that this will mark a fundamental new direction: greater competitiveness, more freedom for businesses, and less detailed government regulation,” he explained in Dresden.
According to Kretschmer, the reforms must be consistently pursued. “This includes lower energy costs, faster planning and approval procedures, and a modern labor market. Only in this way can we make Germany competitive again. If today marked the starting point for a change in economic policy, then this coalition committee was successful. Now these first steps must be followed by further ones.”
