The Dresden public prosecutor's office has brought charges against two people from the "Reichsbürger" scene. It accuses the 63-year-old woman and the 59-year-old man of continuing to work for the "United German Peoples and Tribes" association after it was banned by law.
Continuing to be active for a banned association is punishable by law. The public prosecutor's office announced that the charge was a violation of the ban on association.
Association banned in 2020
The then Federal Minister of the Interior Horst Seehofer (CSU) had banned and dissolved the group in March 2020. The reason given was that it was anti-constitutional, spread racist and anti-Semitic writings and thus systematically poisoned liberal society.
According to the public prosecutor's office, the 63-year-old had played a leading role in the "Geeinten deutschen Völkern und Stämmen". After the ban, she had continued "for a not inconsiderable" period of time. The 59-year-old man is said to have continued as an active member.
"The accused is said to have played a leading role in implementing the goals of the banned association in order to establish a separate state system with its own administration and jurisdiction while negating the statehood of the Federal Republic of Germany and its federal states," the public prosecutor's office said.
