Hertel was born in the Vogtland region and was already performing on stage with her father, Eberhard, as a small child. She appeared on television at an early age and achieved great success, particularly with her songs “Über jedes Bacherl geht a Brückerl” and “So a Stückerl heile Welt.” To date, she has released more than 20 studio albums. She is married to the Austrian rock musician Lanny Lanner and lives in Chiemgau, Bavaria.
