At the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden (SKD), exhibits are currently being dusted. The museum association traditionally uses the closing times of the various collections in the first three months of the year for a major clean.
According to the SKD, cleaning work is currently taking place in the Mathematical-Physical Salon. The Porcelain Collection and the Old Masters Picture Gallery will be closed from March 9 to 20. Cleaning will also take place there. The collections in the Residenzschloss and the Albertinum were already cleaned at the beginning of the year.
The collections will be cleaned. However, rooms such as the foyer, checkroom and event areas will also be renovated during this time, according to the SKD. Depending on the size of the museums, a shorter or longer closure period may be necessary.
