Jan Vogler can certainly be described as a stroke of luck for Dresden. With him at the helm, the city on the Elbe’s music festival has gained recognition even abroad. This is set to continue in the future as well.

Cellist Jan Vogler will remain artistic director of the Dresden Music Festival for another five years. His new term will begin on October 31, 2026, and end on June 30, 2031, the city administration announced, praising the festival’s successful development as it prepares to celebrate its 50th anniversary next year.

Vogler took over as artistic director of the festival, which was founded in 1978, in 2009. Since then, he has successfully expanded the festival and secured substantial external funding, according to the announcement.
