Dresden Mayor Praises Vogler’s Creativity

“With his many ideas, Jan Vogler has helped ensure that the music festival plays an important role in Dresden’s cultural and tourism sectors. Every year, he succeeds in attracting outstanding musicians to Dresden and delighting audiences with a diverse program,” emphasized Mayor Dirk Hilbert (FDP). 

Vogler is regarded as a guarantee of the festival’s success

Annekatrin Klepsch (Die Linke), the city’s mayor for culture and tourism, described Vogler as a key factor in the further development of the music festival. He can help “anchor the festival in the international consciousness on the musical map and inspire people to see Dresden as a city of music.”

Vogler expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him. Dresden has established itself very prominently on the international festival scene in recent years. “I look forward to shaping this path for another five years.”

Born in 1964, the musician directs not only the Dresden Music Festival but also the Moritzburg Chamber Music Festival. As a cellist, he performs internationally, including as a soloist with renowned orchestras. He lives in New York and Dresden.
