How important are insects for our lives? A new exhibition at the Senckenberg Nature Museum in Dresden invites visitors to discover their diversity in more detail.

From Thursday (October 30), the Senckenberg Nature Museum Dresden is dedicating a new special exhibition to the fascinating world of insects. The exhibition aims to highlight how important these animals are for the environment. "We encounter insects everywhere - but it is only when we really look at them that we understand their diversity and importance," said Matthias Nuß, one of the curators of the exhibition.

In an interactive Naturelab, visitors can conduct their own research, discover details under binoculars or learn more about wild and honey bees. Sculptor Sabine Emmerich adds artistic perspectives with installations such as the "Conference of Insects", which focuses on the loss of species. The show can be seen until August 16, 2026.

The exhibition is part of the "iNUVERSUMM" project, which the Senckenberg Natural History Collections Dresden are implementing together with partners.
