With its motto "Love", the Dresden Music Festival has once again met the public's taste. According to the artistic director, 65,000 people attended the 58 events in four weeks - as in the previous year. With ticket revenues of around two million euros, the festival continued the success of previous years. The average occupancy rate was 95 percent, with significantly more tickets being sold at the box office this time.
"An outstanding year," said Artistic Director Jan Vogler before the closing event on Saturday with the performance of Richard Wagner's "Siegfried" in historical practice under the direction of Kent Nagano. The interplay of first-class artists, a wonderful audience and the variety of venues and musical genres is unique in Dresden.
