Graduation rates at Saxony's schools remain consistently high. At vocational high schools, the graduation rate has increased compared to last year.

Exam results for Saxony’s students remain stable. As in the previous school year, about 95 percent of girls and boys successfully passed their final exams. “The results confirm the consistently high quality of Saxony’s schools and the great work of our teachers,” said Minister of Education Conrad Clemens (CDU) in his assessment of the figures. 

Average Abitur Grade at 2.23

The average grade for the Abitur at general education high schools this year is 2.23 (previous year: 2.20). Just as in the previous year, 96.4 percent passed the Abitur exams. At vocational high schools, 92.5 percent received the General University Entrance Qualification (previous year: 90.5 percent). The average grade was 2.37.

Upper Secondary Schools and Evening Upper Secondary Schools

In May and June, 15,269 10th-grade students at the state’s upper secondary schools and evening upper secondary schools took the exams to earn the Realschulabschluss. Of these, 95.7 percent (previous year: 95.8 percent) passed the final exam.
