Jörg Dittrich remains the highest representative of the interests of more than one million skilled trades businesses in Germany: the Dresden-based master roofer has been elected President of the German Confederation of Skilled Crafts for a further three years.
After his election, the 56-year-old spoke out in favor of improving the environment for businesses and the approximately 5.6 million employees in the skilled trades sector. This included reducing bureaucracy, intergenerational and future-proof financing of social security systems, tax relief and reliable energy prices. "The concerns and needs of self-employed master craftsmen and women are no different to those of employees," said Dittrich.
In recent days, the President of the skilled crafts sector had also been critical of Federal Minister of Labor Bärbel Bas (SPD). "Anyone who declares employers to be opponents across the board is opposing those who create jobs and value, who train people every day and, together with their employees, secure the prosperity of this country."
