Almost eight months after the demolition of the bridge on the B101 federal highway near Großenhain (Meißen district), the new construction has officially begun. "Here in Großenhain, we are showing what is possible," said State Secretary Barbara Meyer. The rapid start of construction was "the result of exemplary cooperation between the federal government, district, municipality, railroad, planning office, demolition company and our road construction administration".
The mayor of Großenhain thanked all those involved. "The new construction of the bridge is the decisive prerequisite for ensuring that traffic on the B 101 can soon flow smoothly again - in the interests of motorists, local public transport and, above all, the regional economy."
