Due to construction work, rail services between Dresden and Chemnitz will be restricted from next Monday until November. This affects the IC connection via Berlin to Rostock as well as three regional lines, as announced by Deutsche Bahn. There will be timetable changes, cancellations and replacement services.
IC ends in Dresden
Until the end of April, the IC 17 will only run between Rostock and Dresden. The stops in Freiberg and Chemnitz will be canceled. From 1 May, trains from Dresden-Neustadt will then continue directly in the direction of Chemnitz, skipping the stop at the main station.
In regional transport, there will be changes to the RE3 from Hof via Plauen and Zwickau, the RB30 from Zwickau and the S3 from Freiberg via Tharandt. They will not be able to travel to Dresden Central Station and will only run to Neustadt or Plauen. A replacement bus service connects Plauen with the main station.
