Saxony is one of the states with the largest increase in traffic offenders in Germany. According to figures from the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA), their number rose by 1.5 percent year-on-year to around 377,000 people in January. The increase was only greater in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania at 2.2 percent, and in Brandenburg and Rhineland-Palatinate at 1.7 percent each.

The majority of traffic offenders registered in Flensburg from Saxony are male. With around 275,000 entries, there were almost three times as many men as women (around 93,500). However, the number of female Saxons with entries in Flensburg has grown more strongly recently. Here, the increase compared to January 2025 was 6.7 percent, while the increase for men was 4 percent in the same period.
The percentage increase for women was also greater than for men nationwide. Across Germany, 10.17 million people were on the KBA's driving aptitude register in January of this year - 0.5 percent more than in the previous year.
