During inspections of hair salons and beauty salons in Saxony, customs investigators uncovered approximately 60 suspected cases of illegal employment. According to the Dresden Main Customs Office, 40 hair salons and 20 beauty salons in ten Saxon cities—including Dresden, Leipzig, Görlitz, and Bautzen—as well as several counties were inspected. Investigators from the Financial Control Unit for Illegal Employment are now examining, among other things, 24 cases of violations of the Minimum Wage Act as well as 17 violations of applicable regulations governing the employment of foreign nationals, the report continues.
