The southern tube of the A4 Königshainer Berge tunnel was opened late last night, just in time for the start of the vacations. Autobahn GmbH expects this to significantly ease Christmas traffic. In the direction of Görlitz, two lanes are now available again. In the direction of Dresden, traffic will still be routed through the north tunnel on one lane until mid-January. The tunnel was renovated for almost two years.
