Since August, traffic on the A14 has been flowing over a temporary bridge across the Mulde River near Grimma. Now the old bridge, built in the 1970s, is being dismantled.

The days of the old Mulde Bridge on Highway 14 near Grimma are numbered. The demolition is scheduled for November 15, according to the planning company Deges. For this purpose, a safety zone will be established within a 300-meter radius of the bridge, which will be cordoned off by police. There will also be a ban on drone flights.

According to reports, the condition of the structure, which dates back to the 1970s, has deteriorated significantly due to increasing traffic. For this reason, it will be replaced by a new bridge. Since August, all highway traffic has been routed entirely over a temporary bridge. After the old bridge is demolished, a new bridge is to be built in its place. It is scheduled to be completed in 2029.
