Restrictions on the A4 near Kodersdorf from mid-June

Drivers must be prepared for restrictions on a section of the Autobahn 4 between mid-June and the beginning of November. Because the carriageway and a tunnel are being renewed there, only one lane will be passable in the direction of Dresden between the Kodersdorf and Weißenberg junctions in eastern Saxony from 22 June, as announced by Autobahn GmbH.

In addition, the Königshainer Berge tunnel, the Wiesaer Forst parking lot and the entrance and exit of the Nieder Seifersdorf junction will be temporarily closed due to the construction work, it said. According to Autobahn GmbH, 12 million euros are available for the project.

Tunnel, junction and parking lot temporarily closed

The Königshainer Berge tunnel will reportedly be closed in both directions between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. between 22 and 26 June. According to Autobahn GmbH, in addition to the planned expansion of the traffic routing, the tunnel will also be undergoing maintenance.

In order to get to their destination despite the closure, drivers can use a signposted detour.

According to the information provided, the entrance and exit of the Nieder Seifersdorf junction on the Dresden-bound carriageway will also be temporarily closed due to the construction work. According to Autobahn GmbH, the slip road to the junction is expected to be closed from June 23 until the end of July. The exit will probably even remain closed until the end of August, it said.

How drivers can still get to their destination

According to the information provided, those wishing to exit at the junction during this period can use the Weißenberg junction to drive onto the opposite carriageway of the A4 in the direction of Görlitz. The other exit in the direction of Nieder Seifersdorf can then be used. According to Autobahn GmbH, drivers who want to join the A4 in the direction of Dresden can follow detour 6 to junction Weißenberg.

Between 22 June and 18 August 2026, drivers will also have to do without the Wiesaer Forst parking lot. According to the information provided, the roadway there will also be renewed.
