Curtain up for the best radio producers in Germany: the German Radio Awards were presented in several categories in Hamburg. "These are the radio Oscars - the biggest award there is," said radio presenter and ESC commentator Thorsten Schorn at the start of the gala. He hosted the event together with Katrin Bauerfeind.
The first prize of the evening was awarded to the Saxon radio station Radio PSR. Henry Nowak and Steffen Lukas won in the "Best Entertainment" category with their format "Sing meinen Job!". They wrote and sang quasi anthems for professional groups such as delivery services, cleaners, police officers and others.
"Sometimes the best ideas are simple - and that's why they're brilliant. "Sing meinen Job" by Radio PSR turns professions into little musical monuments: unerringly humorous, warm-hearted and to the point," was the verdict of the Grimme jury.
The gala with around 1,000 guests was broadcast live by 58 private and public radio stations and streamed on the internet. Of course, music also played a major role on stage. In addition to Amy Mcdonalds, Bosse, Nina Chuba and the Sugababes were also scheduled to perform.
